Our creatives have Macs, but the accounting
department has PCs. Clients & Profits will work for both, right?
Of course! Clients & Profits has been available on Macs and PCs since 1993 -- longer than any other agency management software. Clients & Profits runs on any Mac running OS X (10.3 or later) as well as Windows XP/Vista. The Clients & Profits application looks and feels the same to Mac users and Windows users, so training and support is easier. Both Mac and Windows users work on the same database of clients, jobs, costs, and billings.
How many users do I need?
Clients & Profits is a multi-user system,
so it lets many people work on the same database of jobs, costs,
and billings simultaneously. The software constantly counts the
number of users who are using the database at any one time (i.e.,
the "concurrent" users). You'll need to buy enough Clients & Profits
users to handle your concurrent users. If you think 10 people
need Clients & Profits all day, but another 10 for only time
sheets and POs, then a 15-user version should work well (i.e.,
10 full-time users + 5 to handle the occasional users). With
a 15-user version, any 15 people can share the database; the
sixteenth person who tries won't be allowed in until someone
else quits. When a user quits Clients & Profits, one of the
slots is opened up for someone else.
What if I need additional
users later?
It's easy to add extra users to Clients & Profits. When you install Clients & Profits and activate each workstation, the serial number is automatically entered (your serial number controls the number of concurrent users). To add additional users, you simply re-activate each user's copy of Clients & Profits and the serial number is automatically updated. All you do is call us and say how many more users you need. We'll handle the rest.
Can Clients & Profits
be customized?
With Clients & Profits Pro, you can create
custom reports using the built-in Report Writer. If you're technically
adept or have database programming experience, you can develop
custom plug-in applications for updating, selecting, and printing
special reports. Plug-in applications can be very sophisticated,
giving you the power to truly tailor Clients & Profits to
your reporting needs. However, you can't modify the Clients & Profits
application itself.
Can I get an on-site
demonstration of Clients & Profits?
We don't do on-site sales presentations or product demonstrations. Instead, we specialize in providing knowledgeable, accurate sales information by phone and e-mail. We also provide web demos of Clients & Profits. Unlike other agency software companies, we provide a wealth of product information to help you choose the right system. You'll find much of this information on the web site.
Is Clients & Profits
available from dealers or mail order catalogs?
No, Clients & Profits is available exclusively
from Clients & Profits Worldwide, the makers of the software.
The software is very powerful and sophisticated, and requires
a knowledge of the advertising and design business that few dealers
can maintain. That's why we're best suited to help you evaluate
the system.
What about payroll?
The
majority of agencies and design firms use an outside payroll
service, such as PayChex or ADP. Payroll entries from these services
are posted as journal entries into the Clients & Profits
general ledger. Or, Clients & Profits can import payroll
from CheckMark Payroll, a leading stand-alone payroll program.
CheckMark Payroll handles all of your employees payroll information,
including deductions and government reporting. In Clients & Profits,
time sheets are used for job costing only, so they don't interfere
with your payroll numbers.
Do you have any sales material I can give to our accountant and traffic manager that provides a good overview of their area of the program?
Tes, we have our agency guides to Clients & Profits for accountants, traffic managers, media buyers, and account executives. They give a good overview of these respective areas of the program in which your accountants, traffic managers, media buyers, and account executives will focus as they use Clients & Profits.
