We are considering adding Administrative fees to our invoices and I am curious as to what everyone else is doing to recoup their Admin costs.
We charge about 10% to 15% of Administration/Finance time to the client on their invoice. Example if the bill was $1,000.00 dollars, we will make sure to bill $100.00 for their time. Any comments or suggestions?
Thanks.

That is overhead and should already be included your mark-up or billing rate

I consider this an overhead as well, and should come out of your mark-ups and commissions.

We charge a flat rate for opening a job for a client to recoup the cost of job jackets and initial paperwork. It also helps cover office supplies expense. We also charge an hourly rate for clerical and administrative costs that can be directly linked to the job.

We charge the client for our administrative and billing time based on our normal fees per staff member.

We don't include Administrative Fees as a line item on invoices; we do, however, have tasks that our employees use when doing admin type work on behalf of the client and we invoice those charges.
