For those of you who still mark-up production:
1) Do you mark up on the gross amount or net amount?
2) What % do you typically mark up?

Printing mark-ups
We are designing a publication for a new client and would like to be able to handle the printing in addition to the concept, copy writingg and design work.
We would normally mark-up the net costs from our outside vendors (including printers) 20 to 25%, however in this case it would be an especially large printing job, and if our pricing is competitive this could be an ongoing (perhaps monthly) project. In this case it seems that a significantly smaller mark-up may be warranted.
I'd be interested to hear what type of mark-up other agencies have used in this type of situation.
