We are a smallish (10 people) agency in Houston, Texas, specializing mainly in print with virtually no broadcast. We were wondering what you think the salary range is for an account executive with good general ad agency/marketing background (around 10 years), but with only two year's experience as an actual AE. The range on all AE's salaries would be helpful too, with a breakdown according to experience. If you could please indicate the size of your agency and where you are located it would be very helpful. Also, any pointers on where you get your salary info would be appreciated. We have access to 2nd Wind's figures, but wanted to do some cross referencing.

Mean salaries in agencies with gross income of $750,000-$1,500,000: Director of client services/plans & marketing director $87k; Management supervisor (responsible for overall agency services, top level client contact) $70k; Account supervisor (responsible for profits, plans, supervises one or more AEs) $66k; Account Executive I (contact, plans and supervises client work) $47k; Account Executive II $39k. If you are an agency with gross income between $1,500,000 - $2,250,000, add $10,000-$15,000. I'd give you the mean salaries for the southwest region (AZ, KS, NV, NM, OK, TX), but very few agencies reported the breakdown in AE responsibilities. We obtain most of our info from the AAAAs.
