What are some new features?
Clients & Profits X has a new OS X/Windows
native architecture which makes it run faster and more reliably.
The software has a brand-new OS X "aqua" user interface
with larger windows, context menus, and interactive tool tips.
Clients & Profits X can print any report as a PDF or as an
HTML page, as well as print an accurate preview of a report to
the screen. It has a built-in web-based time card taken from
the My C&P! web server, which allows user to enter time from
any web browser. Clients & Profits X also includes an integrated
Media Link for importing media buys from Strata, TAPSCAN, and
SmartPlus, a new weekly time card, and many more smaller improvements.
Is it still a traditional
software program or is it some kind of subscription service?
Clients & Profits X is a traditional software
program. It installs on your computer and runs like previous
versions. Web access is not required, but is needed to access
the web-based user guide, automatic software updates, and for
registering the application.
Will Clients & Profits
X be a free upgrade for existing users?
Anyone who bought Clients & Profits 5.x
after June 1, 2004 gets Clients & Profits X free. If you
bought C&P between 6/1/03 and 5/31/04, you can upgrade to
Clients & Profits X for 15% of the current software cost.

there a steep learning curve for Clients & Profits
X? Will there be training?
No more than Clients & Profits 5.0. Clients & Profits
X preserves the time-tested work flow and structure with the
previous version, so, it's very easy to learn. New-user training
classes for Clients & Profits X are available
at the Clients & Profits classroom in Oceanside, California.
On-site training is also available from our independent consultants.
Is a support subscription required to use Clients & Profits X?
Yes. The first year
support subscription is required to use Clients & Profits
X. This subscription offers unlimited toll-free telephone
support, unlimited access to the subscribers-only web site,
free user group membership, quarterly newsletters, and software
updates. Additional renewals are optional.
Will Clients & Profits X run on our current hardware?
Since Clients & Profits X requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later or Windows XP/Vista/7, it requires hardware that can effectively run those operating systems. So if your current computers can run OS X or Windows, they should run Clients & Profits X.
Do we have to buy a new server to run Clients & Profits X?
No, unless your going to use MySQL to manage
the database for Clients & Profits Pro X or Job Tracker X.
If so, then you'll need to get the appropriate MySQL server hardware.
What do we need to run Clients & Profits X with MySQL?
Clients & Profits Pro X (version 10.1 and later) now supports MySQL 5 Communitiy.

How is Clients & Profits X installed?
Clients & Profits X must be downloaded from our web site. The installer
provides 60-day demo versions of our entire product line. From there, you can create your own database, and start using the software. After 60-days, you may purchase Clients & Profits X keeping ALL of your data.
Will Clients & Profits X work with the My Clients & Profits! web server?
Yes. Clients & Profits X can share the database simultaneously with My Clients & Profits!,
giving your remote users access to clients, jobs, estimates,
schedules and traffic, change orders, purchase orders, and more
from any web connection.
Will Clients & Profits X run on Mac OS 9?
No. Clients & Profits X requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later. It will not run on earlier versions of OS X or any version of Mac OS 9.
Is it compatible with OS X Leopard?
Absolutely. In fact, it was designed and programmed to work in Leopard.
Is it compatible with Windows Vista?
Yes. In fact, it was designed and programmed to work in Vista too.
Why is it called Clients & Profits X? What happened to C&P 6?
Clients & Profits X is the new version
of Clients & Profits 5; there were no interim upgrades.
We named it "X" because it's best new feature is
native compatibility with Mac OS X and Windows.
